More than ten months into the war on the Gaza Strip, the Hamas Movement and other Palestinian armed factions continue to deal blows to Israel.
Between August 11 and 13, Hamas’ military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, and that of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the al-Quds Brigade, released several videos documenting recent attacks within Gaza and outside its border.
Two of the videos show joint attacks by the two factions during which an Israeli soldier was killed by sniper fire in the area of al-Zanah to the east of the city of Khan Younis and a Merkava MK4 main battle tank of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) was blown up with an explosive device in the Tell al-Sultan neighborhood to the west of the city of Rafah. Both areas are located in southern Gaza.
Another video shows a recent mortar attack by the al-Quds Brigades that targeted gatherings of the IDF to the east of Khan Younis.
The last two videos show an al-Quds Brigades rocket attack that targeted the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon and another rocket attack by the al-Qassam Brigade that targeted the city of Tel Aviv in central Israel. M90 heavy rockets were used in the second attack.
The IDF has so far admitted to losing 332 troops during ground operations against Hamas and other Palestinian factions in Gaza and along its border. Around 2,200 others have been reportedly wounded. In addition, over 500 vehicles were hit there, according to Hebrew media.
On the Palestinian side, the death toll from the Israeli war is nearing 40,000, with women and children making up most of the casualties.
Despite killing tens of thousands of Palestinians and destroying most of Gaza, Israel has clearly failed to defeat Hamas and other factions there.
