BUK-M3 surface-to-air missile system
Egypt is going to buy a bunch of the newest Russian BUK-M3 surface-to-air missile system, the Russian Izvestia daily reported Wednesday, citing own military sources.
According to the report, Cairo seeks to strengthen its air defense capabilities and believes the BUK-M3 systems can help in this.
The Egyptian military already has a number of Russian-made BUK-M2E surface-to-air missile systems. However, the newest mode has much better technical characteristics.
