Service members of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) have prevented a terrorist attack on a railway in the DPR-controlled part of Ukraine’s Donbass region.
According to reports, on December 28 3 IEDs were found and neutralized on a part of the Puteprovode-Hajenvoco railway. One of the IEDs was plated near a bridge – its explosion may lead to its distruction. DPR security forces also carried out search operations on parts of railway liking Shebenka and Krinichnaya, Puteprovod and Hajenkovo, and Krinicnaya and Puteprovod.
All of the aforementioned railways are actively used by local population and explosions during train movements can easily lead to multiple civilian casualties.
In November and December, DPR authoritiees repeatedly warned that the Kiev government was preparing provocations and attacks in the region of Donbass, wich could lead to civilian casualties. According to the DPR, such incidents would be designed to blame the DPR and the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) for civilian casualties and to justify resumption of hostilities in the region.
