On the night of March 1, ten unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over the Crimean peninsula. The attempt of a massive UAV attack on Crimea was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“An attempt by the Kiev regime to conduct a massive drone attack on the objects of the Crimean Peninsula has been prevented. Six Ukrainian unmanned strike vehicles were shot down by air defense and four more Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were disabled by electronic warfare. There are no casualties and destruction on the ground,” Igor Konashenkov, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, said at a briefing on March 1.

The footage revealed that at least one of the UAVs was likely the Chinese-made commercial Mugin-5 UAVs packed with explosives. They were already used for the attacks on the Russian Black Sea fleet in Sevastopol before.

During the drone attack, a US reconnaissance drone “RQ-4B” was spotted in the Black Sea region. The NATO military is always coordinating Ukrainian attacks on the Russian territory.

According to the Russian military sources, the UAVs were intercepted in the northern and western regions of Crimea, near the towns of Krasnoperekopsk, Tarkhankut and Yevpatoria. The UAVs were reportedly launched from the Shkolny airfield in Odessa and the Krasnoglinsky near the village of Artsiz in the Odessa region.

The attack was carried out immediately after the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine claimed that Kiev allegedly was not behind yesterday’s massive drone attack on the Russian regions.

“Ukraine does not strike at the territory of the Russian Federation. Ukraine is waging a defensive war with the aim of de-occupation of all its territories. This is an axiom,” the Ukrainian official said.

Moscow’s reply to another lie from Kiev was short and clear:

“We don’t believe him,” the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said.
