On September 20, the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh agreed to disband and disarm their armed forces, withdraw heavy military equipment and discuss the reintegration of the region into Azerbaijan. This happened a day after the start of the Azerbaijani military operation in the region.
Currently, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces are disarming the Armenian armed formations in Karab. The process is ongoing under the surveillance of the Russian peacekeeping contingent. On September 23, a group of foreign military attaches arrived in Karabakh. Diplomats from Russia, China, Iran, Kazakhstan, Belarus and other countries visited the vicinity of Khankendi and got acquainted with the situation in the region.

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has published a list of captured weapons obtained in Karabakh. According to the ministry, 4 tanks, 12 howitzers, 12 mortars, 50 missiles, 3 ATGM “Fagot”, 28 SAMs were seized. All these trophies, obtained in 3 days, were shown at an exhibition near the barracks in the city of Shusha.
