On September 30, the situation on the front lines in the area of Krasny Liman worsened for the Russian military. The Armed Forces of Ukraine continued their advance and almost managed to surround the town.
On the morning, Russian forces began their withdrawal from the village of Drobyshevo, located north of Liman, and the village of Yampol to the south of the town. The Ukrainian units which stormed the settlements are heavily shelled by the retreating forces.

Bypassing Krasny Liman from the north, the AFU occupied Kolodezi, Zelenaya Dolina. The road from the city of Svatovo to Liman was cut by Ukrainian forces.
At night, the Ukrainian offensive was stopped in the area of Stavki. At the moment, the front line runs along the southern outskirts of Stavki to the northern outskirts of Zarechnoe. To the north of Zarechnoe, the Ukrainian reconnaissance groups cross to the Zherebets River and operate in the area of the road to Svatovo. According to reports from the spot, the Russian military has recently sent reinforcements to the area.
The last road leading to Liman from Kremennaya which was used for the supplies of the Russian grouping came under fire control of Ukrainian artillery.
Despite the threat of blockade of the town of Liman, the Russian grouping is defending their positions. No evacuation of the Russian military from the town has been reported. On the evening of September 29, the local administration confirmed that the authorities did not leave the town.

The settlement of Krasny Liman. Of course, the “Road of Life” is under enemy fire, but you can drive along it. Our garrison in the city is not cut off from supplies. Locals of course are hiding in basements and shelters. It is rare to meet a passerby. The city is under constant shelling. The defenders of the city are not discouraged. According to the commandant, everything is under complete control. But once again, the situation is difficult.
Call sign “Hunter”, commander of the commandant’s regiment:
We are the military commandant’s office now in Krasny Liman. The operator will go outside, show the administration. There are troops here. Accordingly, if the military commandant’s office is in place, our line of defense is not broken. The city is standing, the troops are holding on, our morale is high as from the first days of the war. No one is discouraged. Everything will be fine, the victory will be ours.
The Ukrainian offensive operation is carried out by large forces, supported by foreign military equipment, including HIMARs MLRS. NATO military instructors provide the Ukrainian military with the necessary intelligence support, coordinate operations and command the Ukrainian officers.
The goal of the Ukrainian military is to cut communication between the LPR and the Belgorod and Voronezh regions of Russia. The AFU need to take control of the town of Svatovo and further threaten Starobelsk. If the AFU succeed, their advance will his will destroy Russian defences in the northern Donbass region. As a result, Russian-led forces may abandon the Severodonetsk-Lisichansk agglomeration.
The Ukrainian offensive in the Estuary has led to some success at a time when Russian President Vladimir Putin is going to sign an international agreement with the DPR, LPR and Kherson, Zaporozhye regions on their entry into the Russian Federation. Thus, the Ukrainian offensive leads not only to military, but also to media benefits.
