The situation in Mariupol remains tense. The joint forces of the DPR and Russia are slowly advancing from the eastern and western directions in the central districts of the city.
Their advance is significantly slowed down not only by direct fire from enemy troops, but also by the need to evacuate civilians from areas under their control, as well as from areas where fighting continues. While Russian troops are trying to ensure the evacuation of civilians under fire, the AFU nationalist forces, do not care about saving the lives of people they use as human shields. Even in areas under the control of the DPR, civilians are afraid to leave the basements, as the Ukrainian artillery continues to shell them.
On March 26, the children who managed to escape from Mariupol confirmed the inhumane actions of the members of the Azov regiment. They claimed that Ukrainian militants opened fire on them when they tried to reach the areas protected by the DPR, even after the children had agreed the pass with Ukrainian militants. Since the beginning of hostilities, they were hiding in the basement of a multi-storey building, which was almost completely occupied by the Azov militants. The building was destroyed. Leaving their shelter, Ukrainian nationalists tried to kill civilians.
