Russia is conducting mass production of FAB-3000 heavy bombs. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation revealed that the mass production began in February 2024.
On March 21, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergei Shoigu, checked the fulfillment of the state defense order by a number of enterprises of the military-industrial complex located in the Nizhny Novgorod region. During the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Defense to the defense industry enterprise, they showed the three-ton aerial bomb.
At one of the enterprises, the head of the Russian Defense ministry was also informed about a multiple increase in the production of FAB-500 aviation bombs, and a doubling in the production of FAB-1500 bombs.
The Russian heavy bombs were equipped with universal planning and correction modules and became a nightmare for the Ukrainian military. The Ukrainian military has already complained that Russian forces are now launching 16 times more bombs on Ukrainian positions than they did a year ago. According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Ivan Gavrilyuk, over 3,500 Russian bombs were dropped in 77 days in 2024. According to the Ukrainian statistics, an average of about 45 heavy bombs per day are dropped on the Ukrainian military. LINK
The gigantic FAB-3000 is capable of causing catastrophic damage to enemy concrete fortifications and warehouses.
At the moment, it is not clear what universal planning and correction modules the huge bombs will be equipped with, as well as which aircraft will be carrying them.
During his visit to the military-industrial entreprises, the Russian Minister of Defense was informed that the entreprise has increased the volume of production of aviation and artillery weapons five times compared to last year. Such results were achieved thanks to the deconservation of production facilities and the modernization of existing production lines. Modern high-tech equipment was supplied to the enterprise.
Against the background of the ongoing military conflict in Ukraine and the growing threat of a major war in Europe, Moscow is successfully preparing for a protracted war.
