British national Paul Urey died of chronic diseases while in DPR custody on July 10th. The death of a captured “British mercenary” was declared by the DPR ombudsman Darya Morozova on July 15th.
The DPR ombudsman claimed that Paul Johnson Anthony Dominic Urey was given appropriate medical assistance from the side of the DPR. However, Urey had numerous diseases.
Paul’s mother claimed in an interview to the British media that her son was Type 1 Diabetic. However, it turned out that this was not the only disease he had. During the first medical examination, Paul Urey had already had a number of chronic diseases, including insulin-dependent diabetes, damage to the respiratory system, kidneys, and a number of diseases of the cardiovascular system.
“I would like to note that international organizations, as well as official representatives of the United Kingdom (including the Foreign Office, the Embassy in the Russian Federation, and members of the British Parliament), have been notified of the fact of Paul Uriy’s capture. Also, at his request, the relevant information was transmitted to foreign media. However, there was no reaction from the UK.” – the DPR ombudsman said.
According to Paul and British media, a 45-year-old Briton who suffers chronic diseases voluntarily went to the active combat zone in another country with another young man to help evacuating women from the areas under Russian control.
Paul Urey born in 1977 is a British citizen officially unemployed since 2015. Until 2015, he took part in hostilities in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya, where he allegedly “provided humanitarian assistance” to the rebels.
Paul Urey was detained on April 25, 2022 by the Russian Armed Forces at a checkpoint in Zaporozhye together with another British citizen a 22-years-old driver Dylan Healy. According to their claims, they worked in contact with the humanitarian mission and were engaged in the evacuation of a woman and children from the territory of hostilities. That’s why they allegedly attempted to reach the areas under Russian control.
During the arrest, photographs of explosion sites and other objects related to military operations were found in Paul Urey’s phone. All these facts indicate that Urey and Healy were collecting data for British intelligence. The detainees were accused of espionage.
The British Foreign Ministry did not take any active actions to release its citizens, limiting to formal statements that it would try to get some information about their condition made back in April.
Dylan Healy
Paul’s colleague Dylan Healy is a more secret figure. On his only photo shared by the media he has fake sun glasses drawn intentionally to cover his face. No exact data on his life and career is shared in the media.
Dylan Healy and another British fighter Andrew Hill were charged with taking part in hostilities in Ukraine as mercenaries in the DPR on July 1.

The detainees Paul Urey and Dylan Healy stated that they work in Ukraine on behalf of the British non-profit organization The Presidium Network. But the organization did not confirm any official cooperation with them. The Presidium Network stated in the media that Paul is familiar to them, but is not formally linked to the organization.
The slight analysis of the NGO activities reveals that it is likely working in a close contact with the intelligence services.
According to the official website of the NGO, “The Presidium Network is a UK non-profit that provides support to communities in crisis to manage humanitarian issues and represent the needs of people affected by violence or poverty to international-policy makers.” It was allegedly working on the evacuation of individuals and families from Afghanistan since August 2021 and is now operating in Ukraine.
However, no official confirmation of any humanitarian activities in Afghanistan have ever been provided. There is no single photo of the NGO members working in the country.
Their mission in Ukraine is also shrouded in mystery. There are only some photos of only one van with humanitarian aid allegedly sent to Ukraine in the accounts of the NGO in the social media. Meanwhile, the NGO claims it sends up to 400 tons of aid per day.

The NGO has two employees, Dominik Byrne and Scott Richards.

He also worked with DTI Limited in the UAE. Founded by retired Tier One U.S Special Operations Forces, “DTI Limited provides world-class counter-insurgency subject matter experts to International Security Forces around the world”.
There is no doubts that the British NGO that is working closely with the US Intelligence and Special Forces is another fake organisation aimed at recruiting mercenaries who are sent to Ukraine and die there.
