On the evening of October 10, shootout between Israeli security forces took place in the city of Ashdod. According to the local reports, two groups of Israeli servicemen took each other for militants and opened fire. As a result, at least two servicemen were reportedly killed.
The surprise attack of Palestinian forces and their advances deep into Israeli territory dispelled the myth of the almighty Israeli Army. Clashes are still ongoing in various settlements. Friendly fire in Ashdod once again confirmed that the most combat-ready Israeli soldiers continue to make mistakes in a stressful situation.
