The Russian army is grinding the Ukrainian garrison in the fortress of Ugledar. Today, Russian forces advanced in different directions around the city. Russian flags are waving in Ugledar, while the remaining Ukrainian forces that were prohibited to retreat are gripped by the agony of imminent defeat.
On September 30, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation broke through Ukrainian defense west of Ugledar, entered the city and took control of highrise buildings in the western part of the city. They gained and secured their foothold on Molodizhna street.
South of Ugledar, stormtroopers of the 430th motorized rifle regiment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation took control of the territory of a dairy farm located north of Pavlovka on the southern outskirts of Ugledar. Russian flag was raised in the area. A medical building also came under Russian control in the south of Ugledar.
Meanwhile, Russian forces are advancing from the eastern direction. Ukrainian military acknowledged the loss of the eastern part of Ugledar.
The rapid advance and new footholds of the Russian army in the city threaten the remaining Ukrainian grouping with the upcoming split in the center of the city, its complete encirclement and destruction.
Ukrainian forces remain in the center of Ugledar where they are pounded by Russian strikes. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are still trying to hold defense of the northern outskirts of the city in an attempt to secure the retreat road. Some small Ukrainian groups attempt to escape from the cauldron through the fields north of Ugledar but the Russian military is holding fire control of all the areas around the city.
The Russian army is also rapidly expanding the zone of its control in other areas in the Ugledar direction. North of the city, the Russian troops advanced along Konstantinovka-Vodyanoe front and repelled the enemy from several strongholds south of Katerinovka.
West of Ugledar, Ukrainian sources reported Russian advance near the village of Zolotaya Niva. The assault on the village is expected to begin in the coming days and it is unlikely to last long.
Heavy urban battles in the fortress of Ugledar continue. The abandoned Ukrainian garrison is doomed to defeat. Their only way to survive is to surrender to the Russian military.
