The battle for Kurakhovo is gaining momentum. Russian forces launched assault from new direction, battles reached the centre of the city.
Russian troops have been conducting a powerful offensive for a day. According to the reports from the front, they crossed the water reservoir and gained a foothold in the northern part of the city. Battle for the important stronghold deployed on the territory of the local elevator is ongoing. According to preliminary reports, Russian forces took control of the local market and gained a foothold in the apartment buildings in the northern part of Kurakhovo.
At the same time, Russian troops are advancing from the eastern part of the city. The newly shared footage showed Russian flags waving in the industrial zone and near the local school No.5 in the residential area with private houses. Thus, the Russian army. in particular the 5th Separate Motorised Rifle Brigade, advanced about 500 meters on the city streets, secured its control of the captured areas and approached the city center.
At least a third of the city is already under the control of the Russian military.

On the northern flank, fighting continues in Sontsivka, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempt to resist and prevent Russian forces from reaching the water reservoir dam in Stary Terny.
However, the battle for Sontevka is losing any sense since the Russian military is approaching Stary Terny from the eastern direction. After Russian forces secured their control of Novaya Ilyinka, they immediately launched assault on Berestky from the east and approached the village from the north. According to preliminary reports, the advancing Russian troops already reached the centre of the village. The Ukrainian military had to strengthen its positions there by transferring reserves.
The risky assault operations across the reservoir and rapid advance around the city heavily complicate the defense of Kurakhovo. The city may come under the full Russian control in the nearest future and the Ukrainian garrison will be grinded in cauldrons; but the Ukrainian military command does not allow to withdraw forces to save lives of the soldiers and send additional units to the cauldron. They may help to slow down but not to stop Russian offensive.
