Amid the ongoing Ukrainian offensive operations in Kharkov, Russian forces left almost the entire territory of the region. As of September 12, the front lines were almost stabilized and are marked by heavy positional battles without any significant advances by any of the warring sides.
So far, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have reportedly taken control on an area of about 8800 km2 in the Kharkiv oblast.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have actually completed the withdrawal from the territory of the Kharkiv region, including the northern regions. The AFU took control of the villages of Liptsy, Cossack Lopan, Bolshoy Burluk and Volchansk located north and east of Kharkov on the Russian border.
In the area of Izyum, Russian forces withdrew to the left coast of the Oskol river where they are transferring reinforcements in order to strengthen their defences. The Oskol river became the new front line.

Another important Russian stronghold in the region is the town of Krasny Liman which is still under control of the Russian military. The Russian military also held control of the village of Studennok located on the road north of Krasny Liman.
For the second day in a row, the AFU continue their attempts to storm the town, defended by the Russian BARS-16 also known as Kuban battalion and servicemen of the LPR. Ukrainian formations forced the Seversky Donets river in the Zakatnoe area and transported several pieces of equipment to attack Krasny Liman from the eastern direction, so far, to no avail. The situation in the town remains calm. Civilians are being evacuated.
The town is under attack of 2 battalion tactical groups and including 2 companies of tanks. About 1000 members of the Ukrainian territorial defence are involved in the offensive.
‘Ukrainian patriots’ near Izyum:
According to some reports, NATO instructors lead the battle near Krasny Liman. According to radio intercept and data obtained from communication with prisoners, at least several groups of NATO officer are deployed in the Ivanovka and Nikolaevka regions near Slavyansk. They reportedly include Poles and Englishmen. The former supervise and fully direct the crews on the M-777 artillery systems, while the British are responsible for the use of high-precision MLRS.
The AFU and NATO are expected to continue their attempts to storm the town of Krasny Liman in order to create a bridgehead on the left coast of the Oskol river and develop their offensive towards Kremennaya.
To the west of Lisichansk, the AFU reportedly approached the village of Belogorovka located on the road leading to the city. In the case of a successful Ukrainian attack, Ukrainian forces may threaten Russian defences in the northern Donbass.
