At least three people were killed in Yemen over the night of March 30 and 31 when the United States military launched another wave of strikes against the Houthis (Ansar Allah).

Al-Masirah TV, which is run by the Houthis, said that two strikes hit the district of Bani Qays in the northwestern province of Hajjan, killing two people and wounding another. Another person was killed and five others were wounded after four strikes hit the Bani al-Harith district in the countryside of the capital, Sanaa, according to the news channel.

At least 13 other strikes targeted the eastern outskirts of Sanaa, with eight hitting the area of al-Malika and five others hitting the Sarf area. However, no casualties were reported by Al-Masirah.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which is responsible for U.S. military operations in the Middle East, has not yet provided any details about the strikes.

Earlier on March 30, the Houthis announced that they had launched three separate attacks against the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman and other warships of the U.S. Navy in the Red Sea. There was no comment from CENTCOM.

The group also launched a Zulfiqar ballistic missile at Ben Gurion Airport in the center of Israel. The missile was, however, intercepted, according to the Israeli military.

CENTCOM resumed strikes against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen on March 15 on orders from U.S. President Donald Trump, who said that the large-scale operation was launched in response to the group’s renewed attacks on shipping in the Red Sea.

At least 60 people, including commanders of the Houthis and civilians, have been killed in Yemen since the start of the operation.

Despite taking some losses, the Houthis remain unfettered. The group’s recent attacks also indicate that its military capabilities were not badly affected.
