Russian counteroffensive in the Kharkov region continues. Near the town of Stary Saltov, Russian-led forces took control over the villages located on the road leading to the town from the north. As a result, the Armed Forces of Ukraine found themselves in another trap. At the same time, the AFU reportedly finished the pontoon crossing across the river near the village of Hotomli. The attack of Ukrainian forces may threaten Russian positions south of Stary Saltov and deblocade the road to the town.
Russian military operations in the Kharkov region carried out by small groups are mostly aimed at distraction of Ukrainian forces from the main Donbass front lines.
The Russian counteroffensive near Kharkov may mark the resumption of massive attacks in the Izyum area, where positional clashes have continued over the last weeks. The Ukrainian military has previously reported the reinforcement of Russian positions in Izyum. Thus, a major offensive towards Slavyansk should be expected soon.
Another hotspot is the town of Svyatogorsk. Russian forces are yet to take control of the AFU fortifications in the local monastery, located on a hill on the western bank of the Seversky Donets River. Fierce clashes continue to the west of the town, in the village of Bogorodichnoe. The control over the village would let Russian forces attack the AFU positions in the monastery from the rear.
Meanwhile, the AFU left their positions to the south of Svyatogorsk. Kiev confirmed that Ukrainian units retreated from Ozernoye, Shchurovka, Brusovka and a couple of very small villages in the area of Krasny Liman.
In the Severodonetsk-Lisichansk metropolitan area, no major successes were reported by any side. While fierce clashes continue in the industrial zone of Severodonetsk, Russian-led forces attempt to clear the way to Lisichansk from different directions. Fierce clashes continue in Privolnoe in the north and Ustinovka in the south.
Another trap of the AFU is located in the city if Zolotoe, which is almost surrounded by Russian-led forces. According to preliminary data, the town of Kamishevaha came under DPR control. But the AFU still hold their positions in Vrubovka.
Russian-led forces are slowly advancing towards the city of Bakhmut. The village of Pilipchatino reportedly came under DPR control.
Clashes continue for the control over the Uglegorskaya power plant near the city of Svetlodarsk which is already under DPR control. DPR units entered the southern outskirts of the town of Novolugansk. Control over it would let them attack the AFU positions in the plant from the southern direction.
So far, no changes on the frontlines have been confirmed in other regions of Ukraine.
