Amaq Shares Photos Of ISIS Terrorists Pledging Allegiance To Their New Leader

On December 1 and 2, ISIS’s official news agency, Amaq, released photos of the terrorist group’s cells pledging allegiance to their new leader Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurashi.

Abu al-Hussein succeeded Abu al-Hasan al-Hashimi al-Qurashi, who was killed by government forces and former rebels in southern Syrian governorate of Daraa in mid-October. The appointment of Abu al-Hussein was officially announced by ISIS in an audio message that was released the al-Furqan Foundation for Media Production on November 30.

Some of the photos released by Amaq were taken in Iraq, the heartland of ISIS. The terrorist group’s remnants there has been wagering an insurgency against Iraqi government forces.

Another group of photo was taken in the terrorist group’s so-called Khorasan Province, which includes Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Pakistan.

The remaining photos were taking in different part of West Africa, mainly in Nigeria where the terrorist group’s presence is the strongest.

The killing of Abu al-Hasan, who was appointed as the leader of the group only earlier this year, was without a doubt a major blow to ISIS. The terrorist group’s command and control structure appears to be suffering from some serious security issues.

As of now, next to nothing is known about ISIS new leader Abu al-Hussein who may be an Iraqi national just like his three predecessors: Abu Baker al-Baghdadi, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi and Abu al-Hasan.
