The governor of Damascus has announced the end of the first phase of the evacuation of militants from the Qaboun district.
2289 civilians and militants were evacuated from eastern Damascus to the militant-held area of the Idlib province on Sunday.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) entered the nearby Tishreen district and began to clear the district from mines and IEDs. The SAA also started destroying undeground tunnels linking the Qaboun district with the Eastern Ghouta region.
In Eastern Ghouta, clashes between the SAA and Jaish al-Islam resumed in the village of Beit Naim where the SAA shelled several positions of Jaish al-Islam with heavy rockets. Jaish al-Islam responded attacking SAA fortifications in the vicinity of Beit Nam.
Militants of the Al-Rahman Corps and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) launched a joint attack on positions of Jaish al-Islam in the Misraba area in Eastern Ghouta. The Al-Rahman Corps and HTS seek to expand their influence in Eastern Ghouta with this move.
It’s worth to remember that Jaish al-Islam militants had launched two attacks on the positions of the Al-Rahman Corps and HTS in the northern part of Eastern Ghouta. However both attacks failed.
